One of the primary missions of research librarians in an academic library is to collaborate with faculty to develop and deliver research instruction workshops and/or other activities that introduce students to the foundations of academic research, as well as specialized concepts and tools.
This following pages of this guide share examples of workshops and activities from across major disciplines that librarians have presented to courses at Trinity. We invite you to explore these examples, and hope they will provide inspiration for your work with research librarians!
Some of the workshops are better suited for a particular discipline and some may be applicable to all disciplines. If you would like to incorporate content from them into your course or suggest new workshops, we would be happy to have a conversation with you!
Even though workshops and activities were presented to specific courses in specific disciplines, all may be individually customized to meet the goals and objectives of individual courses and assignments, and multiple activities may comprise any single workshop.
We gratefully acknowledge all of the Trinity librarians and archivists, past and present, who have contributed to the content of this guide.
