Joelle Thomas: My Guides

Will meeting with a librarian be helpful?

We think that our work with students helps them to accomplish their research more quickly and efficiently, to enjoy their research, and to feel more confident when they’re doing it.

But you don’t have to take our word for it. Here is what some Trinity students have said:

"As a first-year I was intimidated to access the library, but the research librarians extended themselves to me through my classes. Now as a junior I continue to access research librarians by having one-on-one meetings."

“Instead of spending hours sifting through information that may not be helpful, research librarians have given me the skills to be efficient and effective in my research and writing."

"By meeting with a librarian, I was the most prepared student in my class."

"Students are able to make appointments with librarians that will help them frame their research question, thesis topic, outline for papers, and find every source of information imaginable."

"One of the first pieces of advice I received upon coming to Trinity was to make sure of the library and the research librarians. To this day, that is still the most important piece of advice I give to any students."

“Whether you have nothing or an already developed thesis, students can easily make and appointment with a research librarian, chat, and research their topic."

“Every single time I work with a research librarian, I feel much more confident about my research, have stronger sources, and ultimately a better paper."

My Course and Subject Guides

I create general introductory research guides and guides for specific courses. Below are some of my guides. The subject guides can help get you started with your research, especially if you are doing research in a subject that's new to you! If you would like me to create a special guide for something you're interested in, get in touch!
